GuestPoppy, I agree. I do not think that God will judge based on religion. However, I do believe everyone must acknowledge on bended knee that Jesus is the Christ, which I guess you could say rules out some religions…but not many. Even muslims worship the God of Abraham…which as we know, is Jesus Christ. It is an interesting doctrine that baptism is required by proper authority, yet it makes me wonder how God could limit exaltation to one religion (anyone see that SouthPark episode??? “The correct answer was…the Mormons, yes the Mormons are the correct church”). I believe God judges based on our heart, and when we are past this world and come before him at the judgment bar, our heart will reveal what we believe and what kingdom of glory we best fit into, even if some have to wait and have someone get baptised for them to go. This is where the math gets me…there just isn’t that many baptized members…so God must be preparing some way to save his truly righteous children, while allowing free agency. I don’t know Heber, I picture at the time being freed of human constraints. Kind of like walking into the kitchen when a lasagna is in the oven with its aroma permeating the house – and being asked: “guess what’s for dinner?”

That’s a good way to look at it…the aroma. I like to think we won’t be so caught up in words then, but the feelings, the spirit, the truth of who we are and what the situation is.Whether we call it lasagna, a pasta dish, or don’t even use words to describe it…it is just what it is and we will know it.

Because of that, I don’t think you have to say Jesus Christ. Some may say “Papa” or God or Christ or whatever, and we will be judged according to our capacity to love and withstand love. But I still think we are dependent on Christ for forgiveness of sins.September 10, 2009 at 6:48 am #222898Anonymous
