…because I’m a proud papa. This is an excerpt from my recently departed son’s farewell talk:

    Quote:

There are a lot of people in the world who have never encountered our church, or even heard of it or know of its existence. So they worship how and what they please because they have the agency to do so. We happen to use our agency to be a part of this church and I think we all know that there are billions of people who use their agency to follow other religions. And that’s really what life is about. Using your agency. Choosing what you want to choose. Because of this we can’t blame other people for choosing another religion or choosing no religion at all. It isn’t our place to judge or persecute anyone just because we believe our church is the true church. Especially when there are many people who have no idea what our church is. This also applies to members of our church who have gone inactive or members who don’t necessarily follow all of the commandments. This also, most definitely, applies to the members of this church who are not heterosexual. I have known members who have been hurt badly by other members of our church because of their sexual orientation. It is not our place to judge any member or nonmember of our religion. Our place is to love them, like Christ loves them. Love them, support them, uplift them, but not put anyone else down because of their beliefs. We need to remember that Christ loves all of us. He loved us enough to die for us and he loved us enough to give us the ability to choose what we want here on Earth. Even if what we choose is wrong.

There is hope smiling brightly before us. May he lead long and well.

    Young Jedi has learned well.

    My heart is full.

Our generation’s children see things differently than we and our parents did at their ages. That is a blessing.

I agree, Ray. I see this in more than just my son. The future of the church is in good hands as these young people ascend to leadership. It will take time, but it will happen – as long as we don’e drive them all away.

DJ…that post is what gives me hope the ship turns slowly because most people become woke enough to see that is the better way.

Nibbler…I know how you feel…our lesson was the same and I had several shudder moments as people shared what they believe, using their agency. It seems to be confirmation the ship is turning so slowly maybe some people can’t stay while the ship takes so long to turn.
