    Sorry, I’ve got to ask.

    1) Why is a PR department handling this? Why not a bona fide leader in the church that carries a bit more, dare I say… authority?

    2) I don’t think it is any mistake that the church’s PR representative is a woman. Perhaps that answers my question.

That has been my question for a long time. I’ve expressed my disappointment on the public responses from both sides, I won’t rehash it here, but any where along this road a member of the General Relief Society or Q15 could have taken a step or two in the direction of guiding the conversation. From the get go – the first time OW made it’s decision to line up for Priesthood meeting – I thought of a handful of actions that could have been taken to guide these events. Something as simple as holding a meet up in Joseph Smith Memorial center – having General Board members, Seventies or such there to mingle and listen. No answer was required, just listen. Yes it may not have stopped the next steps – but I think it may have done more good than we will ever know.

Careful. We don’t do direct, personal insults here.
