I know I bring up lurkers all the time but it helps me to keep my focus when topics get hot – today Pentium3 wrapped up her thread with this Quote:This site has been such a source of comfort and guidance during the ups and downs my ever fluctuating faith.

Yep, those sort of things are a large reason why I have stayed so active for so long. There has always been a very high percentage of lurkers on the site. Seriously, it’s probably 50 to 1 at least. For every active person participating and commenting, there are 50+ people who sit outside the spotlight of the forums and read the conversations. That has always been a vitally important thing to keep in mind about the tone of the site. That is the main reason I call Devils Advocate on his hyperbole so often. Lurkers need to know we don’t support such broadsides from long-time participants. New people venting and looking for support is one thing; someone like DA beating a hyperbolic dead horse is quite another thing.

Thanks Brian, as a Mod, the lurkers are always on my mind. I feel like we actually help people bare the cross of this experience even if we don’t see or hear from them.
Ray – Thank you for watching DA. I find myself in a similar boat with R4H, and CiT. Venting, sharing etc is fine but….
