😆 Daeruin, so glad that it turned out to be something so simple. What a great opportunity to serve. Those are ways I find fulfilling to serve as well. I tend to be suspicious of the church and leaders now, so I have to agree with Roy a little, that they are putting your feet in the water… but that is my pessimistic side. I guess I know how I thought as a leader and that is exactly what I would have done prior to my FT. But I don’t want to spoil your service and as the author of “The work”, Byron Katie, would ask “Do you know 100% if that is they are trying to trick you into more service”.. NO. .. sorry, that was a weird tangent and reasoning but I have to go through these questions often these days.
I am really trying to figure out how I can serve on my own terms and keep my personal boundaries. I LOVE non-committal situations such as these. I wish there were more service opportunities to serve people I really see in need in a non-committal way. One way I am
THINKINGof volunteering is with my husband. He works with the 11 year old scouts in our ward. A boy with severe autism is entering and needs 100% attention. My calling is almost over …..(I teach a 12 week, 12 step program, in my ward and it is almost complete. ((Man, if anyone from my ward reads my posts it wouldn’t be hard to figure out who I am)) . Anyway, I fear they will offer me another calling and I. DON’T. WANT. ONE! I like going home after the second hour, I like being off the radar too. And if I say no I fear I will have the bishop at my house asking me what is going on. So, I was thinking I could do scouts with my husband every week, but the commitment makes me have a mild panic attack. ahhhhhh Fully aware that I stress about things that don’t need to be stressful. haha
