GuestI have a question. I am now an administrator but I don’t see how I am to lock threads, or move comments to a new thread, or do other moderating tasks. Do I need to be part of the Administrators group (the kind with red text), or what? How does Ray do it? August 7, 2009 at 2:16 am #221062Anonymous

Ah, the age old question!

1) When you look at the comments, do you have an “edit” option (and others) for all of them – just like on your own?
2) At the bottom of each thread, do you have a box titled “Quick mod tools” – with a drop down menu that includes “Lock topic”, “Delete topic”, “Move topic”, etc.?

Well, that’s what’s strange. I do have ability 2 in the forums only the moderators can see, but in the other ones, I don’t. I don’t have 1 anywhere except on my own comments.I notice that if I go to my user panel I can change myself to be part of the Administrator group. But that will make my name red. I notice that Ray’s name isn’t red even though you’re an administrator.

GuestI went to your user settings and added you to the “Global Moderators” group. That might do the trick. August 7, 2009 at 3:06 am #221065Anonymous

This has bugged me for a long time. How do we get Ray’s name to turn red? Users have sent PM’s based on the red names and in several cases they could have gotten a response quicker if Ray’s name was red instead of mine.
Can we turn Ray red?

It’s because mine and his default group is “Registered Users” rather than “Administrators”. Ray can change it himself by going to his user control panel and just changing the default group.August 10, 2009 at 12:17 am #221069Anonymous
GuestConsider me stripped and dumped in a desert – or don’t, if you are concerned about your sanity with that visual image. I now am red, I guess. August 10, 2009 at 12:56 am #221070Anonymous
