Moderating Outcast

I hesitated to even reply to her thread…and see many red flags, but perhaps we can offer some support and if it goes well…it stays within our mission boundaries…but we may need to moderate these threads and even PM the person quickly before it gets out of hand.

Please help moderate those posts.

Good call Heber. I don’t know if we have many of the tools she will need. The other challenge is going to be a couple of our other posters – Beefster comes to mind at this point, who like to push porn the other way. (Not endorsing it, but softening the rhetoric.) She may not be receptive so who knows. Eye’s open on this one.

Outcast’s 2nd post in it’s entirety…in case you want to see what she is sharing…which clearly needed to be moderated. I will send her a PM explaining it.

I blame the LDS church for allowing this to fester, grow, and explode. Year, after Year after Year, going on 20 YEARS the church kept all of this high=priest’s problems confidential – from the reason his first temple marriage failed, to PPI’s and support groups – the LDS support groups made the situation worse, made his wife think things were being taken care of when they were getting worse. LDS church should NOT offer support groups for sex offenders when they have NO qualified people leading or watching over these groups. The LDS church has put the comfort of the abuser over the safety of its children. It promotes a culture where women do not have the skills to work outside the home and are unable to escape abusive situations, the LDS church called this KNOWN child molester to be a 1st councilor, and put him in charge of boy scouts.

Talk to the bishopric? this person was IN the bishopric.

I have to go watch all these videos, see what has happened to my children and other children I know and love, and deal with these videos being circulated on the net for all eternity. Oh, and I am in the videos too, anyone whoever used any bathroom in any vicinity of this creep is in the videos.

This was a tithing paying high priest – know you can make quite a lot of money in the porn industry. LDS church buildings, funded by porn money.

Thanks for keeping an eye out.

Maybe it’s a recent event and there’s still a lot of emotion… but I don’t know how long it would take to process the kind of emotions events like those would create.

I honestly don’t think that we’re the best place for the kind of support Outcast needs right now.

And as I write this I see a new note from Outcast:

thanks for everyone’s comments – yes, as this involves a bunch of children in an open case I should not share anything with anyone except the investigators who are working through this as well. you can delete my profile.

The only support I think we could possibly give is to help her see she needs to separate things out to deal with things appropriately…but holy cow…what a disaster…I can’t even imagine. I don’t doubt her pain and anger…but the FBI and therapists are needed for such matters…I don’t know if we could get into any trouble for discussing things of such magnitude.

Kind of feels like we shouldn’t be touching that with a 10 foot pole…who knows what is going on and what is emotion or if there is any trolling…and in today’s social environment…women need to be protected and not hushed…

…too many unknowns, and no real place for discussion here, I don’t think, no real application to others struggling to stayLDS, it seems to me. And as mom3 wrote..I could see some problems with people conjecturing about porn and other issues we have discussed by some people here.

I sent a PM trying to explain the concerns but hope she doesn’t feel being unsupported or ignored or doubted…she never read it.

I hate seeing people in pain. The world is such an awful place because of some real evil that exists. I don’t like thinking about such things. And that makes me feel bad about myself…but what are we to do?

All of that is probably pretty obvious to all of you…I just thought I’d put down what I was thinking about it all.

I am just getting to a bunch of posts, but it looks like an excellent call. We can’t be clinical therapists, and something like this needs legal focus, anyway. Too many variables involved for us.
