But this doesn’t feel like a first date. It feels more like an unhappy marriage in which the church is the spouse who can never, ever, ever say that he is wrong, or sorry, or unsure. Yes, I can stay in that marriage, but it’s mighty disappointing.
I’m not trying to tear anyone else’s world apart. But I go a little crazy at his suggestion that talking about these things in regular old Gospel Doctrine class is an act of aggression and faith-destroying. Why shouldn’t we have a discussion about multiple versions of the First Vision? It’s kind of a big deal.
I appreciate what you’re doing.
I agree Ann but the repercussions of having an open discussion on difficult issues in Sunday School pose a lot of possible damage to the majority who are naive and live in a black and white Fowler Stage 3 World. It just isn’t simple… there is no perfect answer. We could have all YM/YW read “Rough Stone Rolling” as mandatory reading at age 12. But that has it’s own sets of bad reasons to do that.

GuestIs God saving only a select few who meet all the requirements or is he working to bring home all his children who are willing to move forward regardless of the speed? We ponder this thought through a quick song and reflecting on my Grandmothers death and funeral. Please read and listen at

GuestThank You to the listeners and supporters of the program. Some people think my podcast is a money maker. It is not. It takes between an hour to two to record. 1-3 hours to edit. And time to publish it to multiple sites. I enjoy it. I appreciate greatly those who donate money as it helps to buy better recording equipment, fund expenses like speaking at Kirtland and the upcoming FAIR Conference, and allow me to purchase a book here and there to base thoughts and episodes off of. I am also grateful for those who agree to be interviewed as it is what makes the podcast. Regardless if a well known LDS author/speaker like Brad Wilcox or someone like Morris or Brittney Hartley, telling their story, it makes the program. I also appreciate the feedback from listeners like you. I hope the support continues, which allows the podcast to continue. There is plans for exciting things coming. We have a relationship forged with Greg Kofford Books and have lined up several Authors whose names you will recognize in the upcoming months. I also have contacted a well known Egyptologist to discuss the BOA and he has agreed to do an interview. The next two weeks are already set with Rock Waterman and Greg Prince. It’s exciting. I hope we can keep this going!!!!!

GuestI really enjoyed listening. The story he told about Arnold Friberg consulting with Pres. McKay on his Book of Mormon paintings did my heart a lot of good. I tend towards non-depiction of the Savior – not always, but much of the time, and I’m often uncomfortable because we have pictures of Christ on nearly every piece of church-produced material now. It was nice to hear DOM’s take on that. Thanks for the interview! July 17, 2013 at 6:54 am #257975Anonymous
