Hmmm? My opinion would not meet the mission statement of the stayLDS website. I will only say that I believe MDDB does more damage and harm to the church, and runs more people from the church than MD, StayLDS and NOM put together. Other than that, I’ll pass.

Ask Wayfarer…he doesn’t have as many black marks as I do.

In other word you just dont think db was being hard enough on them…after listening to his assesment I was left with the impression that it was a very cold, contentious board with the occasional nugget of useful info.

I’ve participated in the past. There are a handful of decent people:

Kevin Peterson (or is it Christenson?)

Grant Palmer

Mfbukowski

Tacenda

Duncan

Calmoriah

Volgadon

Rockpond

Rongo

Jeremy Orbe-smith (it’s worth going there to read this guys ‘out there’ posts)

And of course our own DBM and wayfarer.

There are also some really militant types that will instantly play the ‘faithful elite’ card and will go after you if you’re critical. The problem of the site is you end up disagreeing so vehemently with the hard-liners that you feel like you disagree with the church.

Having said that, it’s useful for quizzing apologetic/historical writers.

If you can get Grant’s attention he’s an absolute wealth of knowledge on BoM origins and very balanced in his perspectives. I read a thread where he was comfortable criticising some of the simplistic approaches on fair and the work he’s trying to do to change that.

It’s worth a read, but with a health warning.

I have posted there in the past (not currently), but under a different name. I’m not actively creating a dual identity and I have a similar voice on both, but I know that some of the preachy ones stalk people with the same names on other boards so they can requote it back at them.

My next interview with Matt Francom is completed. It will be on the Mormon Discussion Podcast site Tuesday Morning. It is a two part interview that tells the amazing faith journey of Brother Matt Francom.

My very first conversation with Matt to begin setting up this interview included him asking me what the song was that I used for the podcast. Since then several other listeners have asked the same question.
