    Just so you all know:

I have been offered a job in Bismarck, ND and probably will be moving at the beginning of February. I’m not sure what my time constraints will be for the next couple of months while I deal with managing new people I don’t know.

    My condolences on ND. jk

It was 4 degrees when I arrived Thursday evening for the interviews on Friday. I was walking around in a dress shirt and slacks, no coat, and people were looking at me like I was a Martian. I will be okay; it’s my wife and kids who will have to deal with it. 🙂

On the other hand, summers tend to top out around 85 degrees. That will be wonderful, since I don’t like extreme heat.

Never move to my neck of the woods. Upper 70s and 85% humidity on summer mornings. Upper 90s and 55% humidity in the afternoon.

    Also,

I never thought I’d see a thread titled “My Life Is Not Boring” go on to talk about moving to ND. 😆

I’m sure people *cough*not me *cough* will do a decent job of holding the StayLDS fort down while you are transitioning. ;)

I used to have to go to Bismarck on business until I shut down our ND office. That is one tiny little, 4 gate airport. And it is very cold in winter. Enjoy!

Congratulations on the new job, and I sincerely hope you’ll have an attached garage. (We blithely bought our house in Minnesota thinking it didn’t matter.)

Congrats, Ray. ND and Montana have some beautiful country. I would like to live up there some day.

Hope your family is taking the change well.

I’m sure it won’t be long until you’re on the High Council in ND.

I have been in this new ward in Bismarck, ND for four weeks. I have taught a HPG lesson, spoken in Sacrament Meeting on short notice, played the piano for Priesthood Meeting and, last night, been set apart as an ordinance worker in the Bismarck temple.

One of the Stake Presidency counselors called this morning and asked if he can come to my house tomorrow afternoon and talk with me. I will let all of you know what happens after we have talked.

You’ll be a good HP Group Leader.

You must have left quite the impression.

Disciplinary council or [calling no one wants].

I’m behind you all the way, Ray!

In all seriousness…I want to see you have a high profile position where you can do the same kind of good works in Bismark that you do for people on line here.

Me, too. Of course it could always be a calling as assistant clerk for finance. :P If it is a calling, I have to say your high council works pretty quickly – much more efficiently than ours.

I’m getting a third chance to get the High Councilor thing right.

I am happy about this. The stake focus is on more personal ministry, better teaching and broadening youth experiences. Also, this gives me a chance to speak in church on a regular basis, which I love to do.
