It has been a while since I updated my situation, so I thought I would do so now – especially since my life is going to get hectic in another month.
I still am unemployed. I worked as a sub in the schools last school year and probably will continue that sporadically this upcoming school year. I began a focus on editing and writing over the summer. I have edited two dissertations so far, and I am ghost writing articles for businesses (through one of my wife’s cousins). She doesn’t have a lot of work for me yet, but it is a little bit each week.
The big news is that I will be starting a Master’s Degree in Clinical (Mental Health) Counseling in September – at the university where I used to work and where my wife still works. I figure the least they can do for what they did to me (and too many others) is pay half of my tuition.
My main focal areas will be on couples and faith crises/transitions. The program is six semesters over two years, and we will remain here in Bismarck for at least one more year – so my wife can complete the tuition benefit employment requirement and our youngest daughter can graduate from high school.
I’m not sure how much time I will have once the semester starts, so I thought I should let you all know in advance.
