My mom passed away unexpectedly about an hour ago.

I can’t say anything publicly yet, since her siblings are being told first, but I am thankful she went quickly and didn’t spiral further into dementia or have her schizophrenia resurface.

She said last week that she wanted to be with my dad as as soon as possible but that she would wait on the Lord’s timing. If God really does exist, I am glad he honored her desire.

Thank you for being here, so I could post something and not have to wait longer. Love and am grateful for all of you.

I have always respected how you and your father honored her and spoke about her respectfully, even as you share the challenges she lived with.

As I’ve gone through trials, you have had a very understanding hand of friendship to me, and I thank you for your perspectives.

I offer you the same understanding and prayers during this time when your family mourns. Peace, brother.

I work at a Catholic university. It has been wonderful to hear their expressions of condolence – and to have my mother mentioned in the prayer during mass.
