GuestSilent dawning just put this post into History and Doctrine forum. http://www.staylds.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=1488http://www.staylds.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=1488” class=”bbcode_url”> I suggest it goes under Support, not history and doctrine.
Can someone teach me how I would move this thread and what notice do I give to the originator of why it is moved?

GuestAt the bottom right of your screen, you will see a “Quick-Mod Tools” drop down box. Click on that, select “Move Topic” and then click the “Go” button next to it. That will take you to a new screen asking where you want to move it to. Pick the forum section target. Make SURE to uncheck the “Leave Shadow Topic In Place” box. That option leaves behind a duplicate thread, which I think is messy looking. Then hit “Yes” you are sure you want to do this. POOF! it moved. I usually send the user a brief PM telling them where I moved it to. You can simply tell them it fit better in that section. No big deal.

GuestOn my screen, the lower right portion only has option that looks like this: Drop down of Jump to:
below that is Who is Online, and at the very bottom is Administration Control Panel.
When I look at your post here in the admin section, it does have Quick-mod tools: drop down with only options in that admin section to Lock Topic, Change to “Sticky”, “Announcement”, “Global” … nothing about move.
I’m not sure if my admin rights are setup correctly. I don’t seem to have the Quick-mod tools in the user forums to be able to move the thread to the correct forum.
If you want, I can just notify someone that it should be moved and you can do it, or you can check out my setup rights.
If you want to look at my view, feel free to login as me and have a look.

I will set my temporary password as: staylds

GuestOk…looks like my profile was updated. I was able to move the SilentDawning post on help about church leaders from History and Doctrine into the Support section. Strangely, I noticed a post from Featherina about Church Potential got messed up somehow. Her original post is deleted, and my response to her post is now showing up as the OP and under her username.
I am not sure how that happened, I didn’t even do anything to that post???

GuestI don’t know anything about the Church Potential post. Anybody know how that might have happened? May 14, 2010 at 11:32 am #230919Anonymous
GuestI was looking around the ‘net for info on the phpBB quick-mod tool, and tinkered a little with group/forum permissions. I didn’t do anything with any posts though. I was even waiting to try and fix the settings so Heber could move the post himself. Moderation log shows that posted was edited by Heber13 at “Thu May 13, 2010 5:12 pm.” It won’t show what the edit was, just when it happened and the user associated with the action.

GuestThanks for checking. One can assume it has something to do with a new moderator (me) and my access problems that were being changed around that time…but don’t know for sure. It just reminds me of Spiderman… that with more power comes more responsibility.
I shall tread carefully.
