I moved a post from a new member to the parking lot. I’m actually inclined to approve it, but wonder about the tone. On the other hand, we tend not to be “militant” here.

I thought whenever someone comes here with the sole purpose of promoting something outside our community it’s a no go.

He does say the same thing in his reason for being here as in this post. If all he wants are sympathizers and people to discuss the issue with I think that’s fine and there are people here who will engage the topic. If he’s looking to form a group of protesters – even passive ones – I think that’s a different story.

    His post says:

    Quote:

I’m at a point where I’m determined to not be on the wrong side of history and where my conscience tells me that the policies affecting homosexuals aren’t quite right, I feel I must fight. This post made it around the Mormon blogosphere so I know there are people out there who feel the same. I want to speak with them.

I think he wants to speak with us. I don’t think it is necessarily going the route of recruiting protesters.

I’m kind of interested what discussion it will generate.

I think we could discuss it. If we want to stay in the church, there may be some things we feel we need to fight for. It is how we go about doing it that makes the difference. And perhaps this forum is a place to help practice that.

My opinion is it is allowed to be discussed constructively.

I am fine with it being public, and I added my direct welcome / not welcome comment.
