I was a little concerned about his registration because his justification text described him as an apologist who wanted to help answer questions, and that he had written books defending the church. I checked out his books. Seems like old-school 80’s & 90’s apologia vs. Evangelicals, in the perspective of the Gospel has never changed, and we are the true restoration of primitive Christianity that was lost right after Christ’s death due to the Great Apostasy.

I had an email exchange with him about our policy of limited promotion, and warned him nicely about encountering resistance. He seems chilled about it, so I approved his registration. I’m mentioning this so you guys are aware. I like the idea of diversity in the discussions, so I think it’s good to have faithful voices in the mix, as long as they can be chill about it and still help people.

    His reply:

    Brian,

The idea of promoting my books had not crossed my mind. My last LDS book was published about 10 years ago.

I was going to try to answer questions that people had that were causing them to doubt.

One reason the forum appeals to me is that it’s not a place for argumentation but for discussion and explanation.

Thanks for the heads up. I wondered about his registration.
