Since the justification text is suspect (“Looking for friends”), I googled the email address and checked Facebook. No matches. I then checked the IP address in our system report, and it said the IP address was “ambiguous”. It didn’t provide a general location. I found nothing alarming, but I also found nothing encouraging. Essentially, I found noting.

1) Can someone else do some different sleuthing?

2) Can we set up a generic admin account accessible to only the admins and moderators to use for cases like this when we might want to send an email to prospective members asking for fuller, more specific justifications for their requests?

I’ll see what I can figure out. There is also another new user request which looks similarly suspect. I think the separate admin account is a great idea.

I had trouble finding the last person I approved. I approved them figuring that they’d have to post once to get anything done and if that post was about a cheap place to buy sunglasses then I’d know.

I’m not inclined to add either user. When you’re email is ambiguous or anonymous you gotta put a little effort into the justification text.

I have come up similarly empty handed/suspect. In particular ChrisDre’s email does not appear to be legit. And both of them have very lame justifications. I’m for not approving either and if they’re sincere they’ll try again with better justifications.

Google searching the domain “boonsfarm.hyperjmp.com” doesn’t yield encouraging results. I’ll delete them both.

Yep. Mental Health Counselor in one of the state correctional centers.

We have a great need for those in NY. My facility (Office of Children and Family Services) currently has two openings, and we’re one of the smaller ones. Corrections has openings as well. It can be rewarding. In the school we work closely with the counselors. I love my job.
