Full name: Jacinda Kate Laurell Ardern.

GuestCool. I certainly do not want to make assumptions about another persons faith journey. She seems like a person that will be a good public servant and I congratulate her on winning the election. October 19, 2017 at 5:12 pm #324436Anonymous
GuestNew Zealand politics tends to be deadly dull, but this election was apparently full of surprises and scandals. It was by all accounts a pretty vicious one with the collapse of the Green vote leading to Labour success. She isn’t the first female PM in NZ. There was one some years ago.

GuestOn a completely unrelated note, New Zealand topped the charts are the country with the highest prosperity for 2016. It’s also the 14th least religious country in the world. Prosperity gospel, anyone? October 21, 2017 at 12:00 am #324438Anonymous
GuestTraditional Mormonism would say they are in an up cycle of unrighteousness that will lead to arrogance, pride, and disobedience, only to be pulverized into humility due to God’s wrath. Wrap that up with an Ex-Mormon at the head it’s a recipe for the prosperity cycle in microcosm! October 21, 2017 at 9:24 am #324439Anonymous

Quite a few LDS, particularly among the Maori and other Polynesians.
The LDS were the subject of a Maori prophecy…

There is a HUGE disparity in New Zealand between the Maori and non-Maori residents of New Zealand. The Maori have a disproportionate amount of crime, higher unemployment, lower education rates, pitiful living conditions, and much worse health overall. Hospital admissions for Rheumatic fever are 23x higher for young Maori than for any other demographic. Yet New Zealand as a whole has got the top rating for overall prosperity, including factors like health, education, the economy, crime, and unemployment rates.
