GuestI really like the focus of Pres. Monson’s talk so far. The six aspects of discipleship he mentioned are a very good foundation, and he is focusing directly on Jesus. October 4, 2015 at 4:22 pm #304584Anonymous
GuestPer Pres Monson, faith and doubt cannot coexist. I completely disagree. I have faith in the Savior, and doubt about (for example) the role of women in the temple endowment. My faith in Jesus Christ hasn’t ‘poofed’ away my concerns about the temple OR vice versa.
But it sounds good as a sound bite.

Guest😯 I hope they let Monson leave now and get checked out by medical professionals. He was really weakening towards the end of that talk.

GuestWhat happened at the end? He wore out. We double posted Nibbler. Me, too.

I agree. I do have both faith and doubts and would not have faith without doubt.October 4, 2015 at 4:29 pm #304588Anonymous
GuestI was listening and missed the announcements of who was speaking next. Imagine my surprise when it was Pres Monson. Even over the radio he sounded week

Yes, a clear contrast to what we have sometimes seen where the prophet or apostle seems to get stronger and straighter as they proceed. And it was far different from last night.October 4, 2015 at 4:31 pm #304593Anonymous
GuestElder Rasband’s focus on God loving everyone no matter what is wonderful. October 4, 2015 at 4:33 pm #304594Anonymous
GuestI like Rasband’s testimony from the hymn (I Stand All Amazed) to love one another. October 4, 2015 at 4:35 pm #304595Anonymous
GuestI could have done without the first few minutes of the talk but I think that was just his way of letting people know who he was, an introduction. October 4, 2015 at 4:39 pm #304596Anonymous
GuestElder Stevenson: Quote:Focus not on what we can’t do but on what we can do.
Quote:He weeps with us when we suffer.

GuestIf my husband ever called me his “sweet companion” over the pulpit, I think I would die of embarrassment. (Fortunately, I don’t think I have to worry about that. The things he calls me now are best not repeated in polite company
😯 )October 4, 2015 at 4:44 pm #304598Anonymous
GuestElder Renlund: I love his description of becoming emotionally detached while a surgeon and what tore him out of that detachment. It is a beautiful, powerful story.
Quote:To effectively serve others, we must see them through a parent’s eyes. We must see them through God’s eyes.
This is a phenomenal talk.
