GuestWe could eliminate Sunday school and not have to change anything major like temple rec interviews. It would help primary, which is far too long for most kids and most teachers. But, that’s the only hour with age and sex integration, which probably allows for helpful social integration. So, make priesthood/YW, RS alternate Sundays with integrated Sunday school. ?? Sounds good to me.

GuestI’m not 100% sure about this…but I think there are 3 kingdoms for a reason. 2 hours only gets you into the Terrestrial moon phase.
…but I’m willing to give it a try!

What about the one with the star? Isn’t that where Hollywood people go?

Isn’t the sun a star? So…is our CK just someone else’s Tel.K, from another point of view?July 8, 2017 at 8:11 pm #322138Anonymous
GuestThink about it: Traditional Christianity describes Heaven in almost the exact terms as we describe the Terrestrial Kingdom. (living in the presence of Jesus, praising him eternally without anything else in the way of personal progress, living with good people, being single, etc.)
It is interesting to consider the implications:
If their actual theology is right, all of us who are Christian (in some cases simply confessing him verbally) will will end up, with them, in Heaven (the Terrestrial Kingdom) – even though they deny that. There just won’t be any non-Christians with us. There will be more people, good and bad, burning in Hell forever than there will be people in Heaven – or with any degree of glory.
If our pure theology is right, the vast majority of us will end up, with them, in Heaven (the Celestial Kingsom) – even though too many of us deny that. There also will be lots of non-Christians with us. The so-so people, of all religions (including our own) will end up together in Protestant Heaven – the Terrestrial Kingdom. The merely wicked will be blessed with glory for their original choice in the pre-existsence, while only the truly evil and consciously defiant will end up in Hell (Outer Darkness).
I like our pure theology, even with its issues that I think still need “further light and knowledge” to help us understand it much better.

GuestWe don’t need to wait around for changes we’d like to see. We could make church a 2 hour block starting next Sunday if we wanted to. The cultural baggage gets in the way though. If we cut out after two hours we may be concerned with whisperings or concerned with becoming a project for a quorum leader/RSP to get on your case about not attending 3rd hour… but if you don’t care about being an outcast there’s nothing stopping you from planting your own hedges.

Is there anyway we can make church a “negative hour” block? Where we net extra time? Perhaps if I ask the missionaries over for some free labor that could work. Save me a couple hours doing yard work…We’ll say a prayer right before and after to make it official
