I do believe that at least in my area, there is a big push to prioritize youth meeting together often in order to help retain this group.

I believe this to be the case in my area as well. Schools here are open with masks for everybody and the occasional shut down (online only) for a few days because of cases. Church itself is still every other week (small ward divided in half) with a video option or a just on your own option. My ward is not doing live seminary but we have so few youth I’m not sure we would be anyway. A neighboring ward used to have two seminary groups, I’m not sure what they’re doing. But there are weekly youth activities and I’m not so sure they worry about distancing, masks, etc. Like many other areas, we’re worse now than we were at the previous “height” of the infection.

Maybe we’re an outlier but church is out ahead of the public schools in my area. The only restrictions at church are masks and an unenforced attendance cap.

I’m not sure what seminary is up to. There were so many rules with the aim of ensuring kids were doing seminary the right way that we ended up opting out of the program entirely.
