I hear some opponent came down on Mitt Romney because “he speaks French”. I’ve never understood the American beef with the French – didn’t they donate the Statue of Liberty, help win the clinching battle in the War of Independence etc? – but someone told me this was partly a reference to his mission.
Actually, I’m more concerned about the statement he made about the very poor being looked after in the USA. I think the US has one of the worst records for that in the developed world.
