Thanks for the update. There is a lot in your comment to ponder.

Let me just point out that, even though your EQ President was wrong and acted badly, he probably was acting in what he considered to be good faith in defense of someone he thought was being accused incorrectly. He probably was acting as a protector, misguided though he was, based on believing a friend. It’s easier to understand and forgive if you try to put yourself in his shoes and asked how you might have reacted if you had believed one thing and thought, sincerely, that you were defending the innocent against slander and unjust accusation. Right or wrong, motivation really does make a difference.

I’m not trying to defend what he did, but I do want to be as charitable as possible when dealing with the person as a person.

Well, your charity is apropos, Ray, but there were a few more unrelated entries in this guy’s “jerk” and “technically true but counterproductive” columns. I think J. Golden meant this guy when he said ignoramus elders would’ve destroyed the church long ago if it weren’t true …

This made me laugh out loud! I hope you never see this guy again, but if you do then I’d love to see the look on his face. 😈

Well, if I ever do it, Roy, I’ll need witnesses. Maybe one of them can take video with a phone or something. (No witnesses, no go. The guy is at least 6’4″ and proportionally solid.)
