I got in and figured out settings enough to strutcture the board for private and public communications. Administrators Forum:
Just a place to store confidential information for adminstrators. Only admins have permission to access this forum.
StayLDS Board Discussion:
Management of the boards. We can set people as moderators (mentors) to help manage the site. They can access this forum, but the general public can not. Normal “Registered Users” also can not see this forum.
Support Assignments:
Moderators and Admins only to coordinate who is helping which people.
Support:
This forum section is open to the entire internet public. Keep that in mind. Only registered users can post and make comments, so we have control over that. Anyone on the internet can read this forum without registering.
Thoughts? Comments?
love the support assignments idea. Per Orson’s suggestion, I also added a separate forum section for questions about history and doctrine. We’ll see how it goes. What about an introduction section? That seems to be expected (from what I’ve seen). Maybe something should be posted on the goals/mission of the site first to give people a little framework to consider. I like the history/challenges section idea. If we have internals talking to externals, are we able to “specialize” our support (e.g. choose 2-3 individuals with a range of experience and/or perspective on a given topic) to assist others?
