RocketMonkey34 is the guy I have traded a few emails with. His wife is on Faces East sometimes and I offered my contact info. I’m sure his first post of not wanting to be in the church comes from my stating that I know it was a little easier for me because I always liked church — and while my destroyed expectations were extremely hard to deal with (I didn’t know if it was possible to “make it work” and be honest at the same time) I did have a basic desire to stay with the church, which helped alot. He has had some very difficult challenges and has been made to feel worthless – extra now because he lost and can’t find a “testimony” that will satisfy his family – wife, parents etc. His wife’s biggest complaint (or one of) was his efforts to “convert” her to disaffection.
I know it’s easier when you can make it work, I know everyone can’t (I have told him that too). I hope he can find it in himself and not just blow-up and demonize the church for destroying his life.
It’s hard. We all know.

go easy on him please.We’ll go easy and try to be supportive. Thanks for providing some more background information. That helps us all respond in more productive ways. Thanks Orson. As you know, the breakdown of my marriage partnership is a big part of my trials in figuring things out with church. If you exchange emails with him and feel he could benefit from talking to me about anything, feel free to tell him he’s welcome to PM me directly anytime.
