Sacred Walls: Learning from Temple Symbols is an excellent primer beyond a temple prep class. It is full of excellent photos depicting the outward symbols of our fascinating and ever beautiful temples. I love how each section will discuss different aspects of our journey to our Heavenly Home and how it is coupled with Book of Mormon commentary. I believe that there is an accompanying video as well for those that like audio and video with different commentaries. I wish I would have had this book before I went to the temple for the Endowment 16 years ago. 1) It is written with the understanding that one is familiar with the Book of Mormon. I like this because every new member of the Church and every member of the Church who decides to go to the temple should have a basic understanding of the Book of Mormon and its basic teachings. 2) As a great teacher would do, this book builds off of that elementary knowledge and adds to it line upon line to get someone ready for an at times overwhelming symbolic teaching/learning session at the temple. I feel that Sacred Walls would make an excellent gift for someone who has just gone to the temple for the first time, or who is getting ready, or for the person that has gone many times. Excellent book!
