Guest“Spurious Charges” sounds so much like President Hinckley. I miss President Hinckley. Back to Conference. April 1, 2017 at 4:51 pm #319568Anonymous
GuestI also love the phrasing of being perfected IN Christ and living a Christ-filled life. April 1, 2017 at 4:54 pm #319569Anonymous
GuestHe takes a positive view on the afterlife. Spirit world is time to do rest, grow, learn. We skip this so often. I am glad he brought it up.Nice clarity that judgement doesn’t come at death. It’s a more hopeful message than death being the judgement.

GuestRenlund and Soares should be good clean up batters here. Nothing to write home about so far IMO. April 1, 2017 at 4:56 pm #319571Anonymous
GuestAgreed DJ The Silver Fox again. Love him.

GuestRenlund Why should Renlund consider being atheist be a disease or sin?

I do like how he made the point that all who follow Christ would gain eternal life. It was a little shaky the way he presented it, but it was in the context of judgement. I tend to be sensitive to the endure to the end idea, but the way it was phrased here enduring could be a short term thing.

Yeah, I have to say I’m not loving it. But I do like that he emphasizes Jesus loves sinners.

GuestTRue DJ.I just like that he added some space. I find we are forgetting that idea from Joseph’s original idea. I don’t know what I believe either. April 1, 2017 at 5:01 pm #319577Anonymous
Guest“Repeated struggles to repent” – I love that this is being said more and more recently. I was happy when Elder Renlund was called. This talk appears to be an example of why. I actually like a disease comparison FAR more than something focused on choice, rebellion, laziness, offense, etc. I like Healer as a name for Jesus, and I like disease as a metaphor for simple, natural “fallenness”.
I would be careful of making him an offender for a word. The central message is wonderful.

GuestThis section touches me. I know there are bumps in this talk. But I think the meat is good. This talk has a lot of great direction it could go in a lesson, talk or personal useage. I prefer it to the 2nd talk. “He did not condemn the woman.”

GuestIs it not possible to give a talk about treating other people well without obsessing over their motes? (Matt 7:3-5) April 1, 2017 at 5:04 pm #319580Anonymous
GuestTo be clear, there are bad applications of the word “disease” – but that is an issue of definition of sin. “We who are sinners” must reach out to other sinners. Don’t self-righteously judge others as being less righteous than us. This is a good message.

GuestI think he is struggling to straddle two thesis’s and it muddies the water a bit. I am going to sort out the part that touches me, which is love others as Jesus loves you. -
