GuestI know we have a thread somewhere on the board about “How did church go today?” I looked, can’t find it. But I wanted to share an unorthodox testimony story. I preface it with the member is full time very active knowledgeable member. He has given some amazing talks and moving testimonies – today was a corker. Two weekends ago our area had a singing youth conference. It’s like a dance festival but with songs. Brother Bob, the testimony sharer, was one of the creators and conductors. Over the past six months the youth have practiced, learned, memorized the songs – again like learning dance festival dances. During a lot of those rehearsals Brother Bob would say – “Ring the Cow Bell”. Today he explained it. A skit from SNL about Blue Oyster Cult recording some great song, among the band members was a cowbell ringer. The band hated the cowbell, but the producer wanted more cowbell. Brother Bob, explained the entire skit in detail. It was very funny. He then tied the skit and the “life cowbells” together. Much like the piccolo section in Elder Wirthlins talk – a personal favorite of Rays.
🙂 Anyway – it was one of the most unique open mic moments I have heard in a while. I just thought I’d share a smile with everyone.

GuestMy husband and I LOVE that SNL skit. It has Christopher Walken and Will Ferrell. 😆 I have to admit that I’ve never in any way considered comparing it to a gospel principle. I wish someone in our ward would give a testimony like that.July 7, 2014 at 2:11 pm #287399Anonymous
