Hi Everyone, I received this request from a psychology researcher studying worry among Mormons. I told her I would pass this along to see if anyone was interested in helping her out with her PhD research.
Worries Study
Intrusive Worries, Related Behaviors, and Religious Beliefs Among Mormons
Michelle Medeiros, a psychology graduate student, under the supervision of Sita Patel, Ph.D., both from the Pacific Graduate School of Psychology at Palo Alto University, is conducting a study to learn worries Mormons have, how they respond to those worries, how particular they are about moral values, and their images of and beliefs about God. The researcher hopes that the information learned from this study could assist mental health professionals and religious leaders understand how Mormons present anxieties and related behaviors. Adults of all ages (18 years and older) who are Mormons are encouraged to participate.
If you choose to participate, you will be asked to answer questions about your demographic information, psychiatric history, religious beliefs and involvement. You will be able to take the questionnaire online, in the comfort of your own home. Your individual responses will be kept completely confidential. Participation in this study will take approximately If you choose to participate, you will have an opportunity to win a $50, $75, or $100.00 Visa gift card. The lottery drawing will take place in September 2014.

worries2014@gmail.com or call 408-829-0887Brian, if the typical participant ends up being a member who is struggling with faith to some degree, please make sure the researcher understands that the results are going to be skewed toward those who worry more and whose worries are grounded more directly to their faith. I know that should be obvious to a psychology researcher, but it is important that a study like this not misrepresent the general Mormon membership due to a statistically abnormal study group.

😆 Mike, is it an either/or? 
Having decided to complete the survey, I feel like the study should have been titled, “Are Mormons more likely to be OCD?” I brought up the fact that the people we talk to are going through faith transition, or are generally less traditional. She responded that the survey takes that into account by asking questions about belief and participation.
