Guestserene, the person claiming to be an investigator, might be a troll. The latest post, “Sorry more questions & and my experience today” sounds fishy – both because I’ve never heard any member, ever, respond the way she says the missionaries did and also because it’s way too pat – especially the reference to Jesus and Lucifer at the end. It might be sincere, but I think we need to keep our eyes open. The post just feels off to me.

GuestHer response to my question set off all kinds of alarms. I’m going to pretend I don’t have concerns and see where the thread goes. If it turns into an argument about the Godhead . . . I hope I’m wrong, but the response sounds like they are straight out of a classic anti-Mormon textbook. I really do hope I’m wrong.

GuestJust so you all know, I asked wayfarer, Silent Dawning and cwald to comment on the thread to try to frame it in a good way before others had a chance to jump in. June 27, 2013 at 1:52 pm #270599Anonymous
GuestI read her initial post. I could detect a little troll maybe, but it also came across as someone not used to writing on forums too, and not being well-educated in Mormon lingo. But then again, she is an investigator. I don’t know. I guess time will tell. Good idea to get some others to fill out the conversation a little. July 2, 2013 at 3:20 pm #270600Anonymous
GuestThe question had crossed my mind, I actually imagined an active member posing as an investigator to see how toxic our responses might be — but it can be very difficult to really know. July 2, 2013 at 4:11 pm #270601Anonymous
GuestIt’s interesting that there have been no posts or comments after the last one. There could be multiple reasons for that, but it’s interesting – since there were regular posts up until that point. -
