My 15 yr old daughter has been reading her patriarchal blessing over and over again. One things she came to me with is how it points out she can serve others and make a difference in this world. She has started looking into programs that allow teenagers to go to places like Bermuda or Ghana for a 2 week summer service program.

My daddy-instincts also kick-in and I want to make sure she is safe. I don’t know anything about these programs, even though on the websites they look like they stress adult supervision and rules to keep kids safe. I need to find someone who has experienced this to know what the risks are.
Has anyone here had any experiences with service programs that I can get recommendations on?
I don’t know anything about those programs, but has she looked at nursing homes, homeless shelters for those with children, abused women’s shelters, food pantries, detention centers, etc. in your area? The international trips are great, but there is SO much that can be done locally in most places, as well. I got nothing.
