    Thanks, Luther, for the historical perspective. I agree with you, in general, about why the movement toward the right happened – and that a large part of it was the real AND perceived societal movement to the left on issues like abortion and sexual promiscuity, especially.

    I would point out that late President James E. Faust was a democrat.

    Also, fwiw, the FP under Pres. Hinckley all graduated from the University of Utah – not BYU. That’s a tidbit that makes me smile. :D

    This is true. Unfortunately, he has had to take a lot of heat from the shrill piccolos in the church because of it.
