Maybe recognizing, and accepting, this will help us to be a bit more charitable to those who question. To those who doubt. To those who leave. I see it as an extension of the things I learned about Blacks and the priesthood, and plural marriage when I investigated the church. Everyone had answers for why those things happened, and I accepted them. Now there will be a longer list. Also, people who are generations into the church may well not have the same propensity to leave given the fact their entire family and social structure is built on it. Makes it easier to rationalize it all, particularly when you are young. I liked the Op-ed. He certainly mentions being more charitable to those that question. Frankly, I like the discussions like this that everyone is having. There is good dialogue going on right now.
