GuestA friend of mine just posted this to her face book. Quote:Men may fail in this country, earthquakes may come,…and hardship, but this nation, founded on principles laid down by men whom God raised up, will never fail….This is the place of the New Jerusalem…. This is the place … where the Savior will come to His temple. This is the favored land in all the world. Yes, I repeat, men may fail, but this nation won’t fail.”
~President Harold B. Lee
Weekly she posts political quotes about the horrid things happen in our nation. I hear comments by Elder Oaks about how in ten years religious people won’t be able to talk about their beliefs except at home.
With Harold B. Lee’s quote in mind, I ask Why All the Panic? If it’s all going to turn out fine in the end, why not breathe, smile and live more peaceably?

GuestI do tend to have a hakuna matata attitude on such things. Has Oaks really said things like that? September 25, 2015 at 2:13 pm #304409Anonymous
GuestIs she trying to increase sales for her Multi Level Food Storage ? Maybe the perfect Essential Oil could save the country?
I don’t get it either .. But we all have that one FB friend.

GuestI think some people look forward to the millennium as almost a type of paradise when life will be easier. I also wonder if this type of thinking becomes more common in the US when presidential elections are nearing. September 25, 2015 at 2:34 pm #304411Anonymous
GuestPanic? What panic?😯 mom3 wrote:I ask Why All the Panic?
I saw some things on the news that aren’t going according to the plan I envisioned and I’m frightened.

The devil is in the details. The nation will survive but after men fail, earthquakes come, hardships, dogs and cats living together, mass hysteria… how will
Ifare?
Kind of like being in the Americas shortly before Jesus visited. Jesus is coming, cool… but right now I’m more concerned with being burnt, falling into the sea, being covered with earth, etc. You know what, I’ll come out of my bunker once Jesus says it’s safe.
I’m not currently panicking but these are the thoughts. The promises seem to be extended to the community as a whole but when things really hit the fan we think smaller and closer to home. What about me and mine.
There’s another factor. People believe that god will protect them
if they are obedient. There’s a built in seed of doubt. If we get destroyed it will be because we aren’t keeping the commandments. The belief in protection only exists because there is a belief about destruction and vice versa. People see society make changes that they feel lead the nation away from righteousness all bets are off for them, no? -
