I haven’t logged on for awhile, but I have been reading the topics and comments. I have a couple of comments:

    1. I am profoundly grateful for all the help I have received here.

    2. I have not helped others here the way I have been helped, and I feel some angst about that. Maybe I can in the future.

    3. Some have wondered if Staylds is going to go on – I hope so.

    Regards, for now

Thank you for logging on and sharing your thoughts.

    1) I too have been helped here when I needed it most and when I was close to making permanent decisions based on strong but also non-permanent emotions.

    2) I fell that posting here continues to help me just not in the same ways that I needed help in the beginning. We would love to hear from you more often but I don’t think there needs to be any angst or guilt about that. Visit and share when it feels right.

    3) I do think that there are sometimes product lifecycles where a product becomes obsolete. StayLDS is not immune to these sorts of trends. If the purpose of StayLDS was fulfilled and everyone felt at peace with their decision whether or not to stay in the LDS church then I think the website could be gracefully retired. The pandemic has reduced the LDS demands and conflicts that many people who might post here might experience and this has in turn reduced the amount of site traffic. At the moment we speculate that site traffic will increase as the pandemic subsides.

    Regards friend.

It is always good to have gratitude for something, especially in times like these when the world is full of negativty and fear. I have to remind myself to be grateful for the good things around me.

At least you are aware of it. I have managed to help some people to an extent. Our current bishop had a few issues with church history some years ago, and I helped him. I think it is good to have someone in charge who understands that struggle.

As for #3 – this place is a hundred times better than Facebook or social media IMO. I have gone into why I think that elsewhere. Brief version – they are a lot less private and more aggressive.

I wish I had more money to give this board, but I am very worried about the near future. I had to go on welfare for the first time recently in middle age, and have been prevented from working by this crisis… Enough said about that, but you get the picture. I appreciate this board and I know it’s not perfect but it has helped me put a positive spin on my church membership. Despite everything, I am profoundly grateful that I became active in the church years before this crisis hit – not only has it saved me from total isolation, it has meant I have a calling which has put me in a position to help others.
