GuestNibbler – Thank you for catching my error. It’s important to get the history right, or else someone would have to write an essay and correct the information. Blessings upon you my son.

GuestLOVED the movie. Have seen it twice. My kids know how much of a nerd I am about the original trilogy, and to my surprise, they loved it as much as I did. The whole movie I was nastalgic and pleased they captured the original excitement of the star wars brand.

This was my thought too. Star Wars likes to go in circles, and Luke teaching a young Kenobi would make sense…despite the odds that in the gazillions of creatures in the gigantic universe they cross…these would end up being connected again (similar to the amazing odds that a millennium falcon would happen to just be lying around with the keys in it waiting to be flown). But there is something to Rey’s feelings that someone would return to get her and she can’t leave Jakku because of those devoted hopes.I think the movie has enough plot ties to make sure the population can follow the connections without have to be comic book nerds to know off-screen trivia, but it also provides twists to make it interesting so it is not so obvious it is boring.
On the other hand…even the predictable scenes (like Ray mentioned) are still made to be dramatic and freaking awesome, even when you know it is gonna happen…I found myself loving every minute.
And I remember thinking that Han Solo has an interesting conversion…even as a practical minded fighter…he can’t help but believe in the Force. It’s true…all of it! I couldn’t help but keep applying that to real life.

GuestQuestions I have about the film: Is Rey the offspring of Skywalker? My hints are desert planet she is left on. Her name can be a world play the Spanish for “king” since her aunt was a princess (Leia), and it also works for Ray of Sun since the sun is in the sky, the root word for Skywalker.
Is Supreme Leader Snoke dark Plagueis?
Is the Jedi Temple that Luke went to look for on the Island that Luke is on?
Why did Kylo-ren turn to the darkside, and whey did Kylo and the Knights of Ren kill the others (younglings) Luke was training?
How did Moz end up with Luke’s lightsaber that Luke lost on Bespin when his hand was cut-off?
These are the questions I hope are answered in the subsequent films. I’ve seen the film twice, and I think it was better than the prequels, better than a New Hope, and Jedi. The New X-wings are awesome. I like how Finn was a storm trooper and defected. I liked to see the empire from the insider’s perspective. The New Storm Troopers look better than the old ones.
