I wasn’t aware that Brian was deceased (or maybe I forgot). That does present a hurdle and creates the questions of not only should we continue but can we?

I agree with Nibbler that there are many factors contributing to less participation here. I also think COVID opened lots of eyes, and like the realization that we don’t really need Walmart and grocery stores 24/7, I think many realized they didn’t really miss church as much as they might have thought and missing church did not summon the wrath of God.

I participate in threads way less than before, sometimes even when I might have something to offer because I just don’t want to bother (and since retirement I have more time so I actually could participate more). I have also gone from checking in several times a day to once or twice a day sometimes skipping a day. You might recall that I started a thread a while back asking the very question of whether we have run our course. I think the answer was fairly clear then that there are still some people who need us and want to participate here. That’s the only reason I have stuck around. I can’t say that I’ve gotten much out of the forum the past few years, my crisis became a transition, and I am mostly comfortable where I am. But I do still feel compelled to offer help to others who come here seeking it, even if they are lurkers and don’t ask any questions.

So, my hope would be that we can overcome the hurdle of being able to actually pay and if we can I vote we continue at least for another year and reevaluate then. However, if this does end up being the end, so be it.

Ok. I will at least check to see if we can get back into the account.

I imagine that inmotion hosting would be motivated to help me do that.

    Update.

I managed to get back into the account and change the primary email address with the help of Inmotion customer support.

The annual fee for this year remains $177.02

I have reached out to MH to inquire if he would like to sponsor us again for the 2024 year.

Gospel Tangents/MH generously donated the needed funds to support us for 2024.

Just to let everyone know that the lights will stay on for another year at least.

That’s good news. Status quo. ;)

Thanks for your efforts Roy and thanks for keeping the site funded MH!

    Thanks, Roy.

We are not as active as we used to be, but I hate to see it end. I think we re-evaluate at the end of this year.

I just glanced at the Recent Topics list and saw that quite a few have over a thousand views, with most having over 100.

There isn’t a lot of active commentary, but there is a surprisingly high view rate, it appears.

I received a notice from inmotion hosting last night that there was a problem with the credit card that they had on file. I went in and submitted payment this morning with the same card so I don’t know why it didn’t work for them the first time.

I’m just putting this here in case anyone else got the notice. Please disregard it because the balance due has been paid.

    Roy
