Ok, good news! I just bought StayLDS.org and successfully redirected it to StayLDS.com. (Check for yourself.) This won’t be a problem for at least 5 years! I will get update notices, so we should have nothing to worry about for 5 years. We can remove the notice “StayLDS.org is Not affilliated with this site” because now it is!
Thanks again MH. I removed the notice about staylds.org from the staylds.com landing page. I don’t know if it was mentioned anywhere in the forums.
As a side note, we haven’t done much of anything with the main landing page. It’s still got useful info for people to reference but the article and pages are dated. People may only see the landing page, see that many of the dates are 10+ years old, and never find the link to the forums.
I don’t have any wordpress skills. Every time I wade into that tool to make a change it takes forever to find where the info is stored. It’s a hodgepodge of confusion.
We might consider overhauling it to at least make it look like it’s been touched in the last decade or we could redirect staylds.com to forum.staylds.com (no more landing page). If we were to set up that redirect we’d probably want to make the articles and links on the main landing page sticky posts or feature them some other way in the forums.
Just a thought.

My understanding is that he does.I did some looking around, and it appears that StayLDS.com expires later this year on Oct 21, almost exactly 6 months away. I would like to buy it and keep running things as-is. I emailed John a few months ago for an interview request and mentioned I wanted to buy StayLDS.com. I am clearly a low priority. He did grant the interview (and then decided not to air it), and he completely ignored me about StayLDS. What do you think would be the best way for me to get it. Would one of you like Hawkgrrrl like to approach him about it? Do I simply ask again (if I ever get a 2nd interview?) Advice?
