GuestI was wondering if we should do a series of posts or interviews with some key people about some of the various forums that are out there that we could publish in W&T. Here’s what I’m thinking: StayLDS (Brian)
NOM (Dathon)
Faces East (Prairie Chuck)
Mormon Therapist (Natasha Helfer)
Mormon Stories (John Dehlin) – however, I think he’s too busy to do this so I’m not going to get my hopes up.
Any others we should include?
Here are some of the questions I think would be good to cover in each of these posts:
1 – What is the purpose or mission of your site? How do you accomplish this in practical terms (e.g. posts and moderation)?
2 – How does it differ from other sites and forums?
3 – Who is the target audience? (Bearing in mind both commenters & lurkers)
4 – How has the site / group evolved over time? Has the site mission changed?
5 – What key learnings have you discovered in running this kind of site / forum?
What do the rest of you think?

GuestLove it! Could you add Post-Mo, Ex-Mo and even maybe FAIR? Not sure if those folks (especially FAIR) would contribute. October 7, 2010 at 8:00 pm #235697Anonymous
GuestI would, but I don’t really have any contacts at Post-Mo or Ex-Mo. I would think I could get Kevin Barney from FAIR (he’s from FAIR, right?). Do you have some contacts at the other sites?

GuestFeminist Mormon Housewives should be on the list, as well as Mormon Mommy Wars. (You are looking for a wide range, right?) I would include Juvenile Instructor and Keepapitchinin’, if they fit what you’re thinking of highlighting.

GuestWhat about John Larsen at Mormon Expressions? I’m still a newbie to the bloggernacle so don’t know much, and so this would be way way cool to hear a group like that together clarifying their views and their site purposes.
