I just listened to a 2007 Mormon Stories http://mormonstories.org/mormon-stories-109-how-to-stay-in-the-lds-church-after-losing-your-faith/” class=”bbcode_url”>http://mormonstories.org/mormon-stories-109-how-to-stay-in-the-lds-church-after-losing-your-faith/. We all know (kind of) where John is now, but I think he gave some really good advice in this.

Back in 2007 I was still a faithful KBM (Kind’of Believing Mormon). I have only lately started listening to earlier episodes. Just like many historical characters, John isn’t a simple one-dimensional figure. But I do get that he was honestly trying his best to show both sides of the story. I know later on he admitted at one point he became frustrated and wasn’t objective. But I read it as a true journey of someone going on a faith crisis, transition, and then getting to a point where he was a lightning rod for so much pain he couldn’t help but speak very bluntly on certain issues that ruffled feathers.
