GuestThis is a doctrinally rich exposition of theology by Elder Oaks, no matter one’s agreement or disagreement. We don’t get many of those, except from Elders Oaks and Holland. April 2, 2017 at 5:24 pm #319859Anonymous

[Admin Note]: Pointing out and discussing the issue is fine. Calling it a joke . . . not so much. There is a fine line between talking about issues and making fun of people. We try not to cross that line here.
Ok fine. Taking a moment out of your day to rebuke a child for not doing something that you yourself weren’t willing to do is wrong.
P.S. I wasn’t calling
Rasbanda joke, I wasn’t making fun of a person. Sigh. This is not the conference for me.

I understand, Ann – but Pres. Monson definitely talks of Jesus as much as anyone. That is important to remember andmention to our kids.Often, he talks about Jesus and love and service – and nothing else.

GuestThere are things in this church that exist solely to buttress its structure, authority, and truth claims. These things mean absolutely nothing to me anymore. Most of this session falls in that category. I suppose I shouldn’t be surprised, because most words in most talks and lessons on any particular Sunday fall in that category.
Ooh, the gospel challenges us to become something. That’s good.

GuestOh prove faithful to your God and Zion’s (where the pure in heart dwell) cause. The music is doing the most for me, I think.

I used to love these, back when the invisible world they expounded on was so real to me. The past Reubens probably really enjoyed this one.

GuestChurch sleep! Yes. DH and I are both battling the flu and we’re having a hard time staying awake right now.

This has been true for me most Sundays lately.

I missed it – fielding texts about Elder Clayton. Technology downside.April 2, 2017 at 5:37 pm #319869Anonymous
GuestThis is great. Seriously. I don’t think I’ve ever heard a talk like this before. April 2, 2017 at 5:39 pm #319870Anonymous
GuestIs the rest of the Church leadership listening to President Uchtdorf? Is this intended to be subversive? Fear? Talk of war, Satan. Arbitrary rules? Obedience to rules without reasons.
This is so weird.

GuestIt’s a complete reversal of the typical rhetoric. We live in a world of enlightenment. April 2, 2017 at 5:41 pm #319872Anonymous
