I will be taking some time off from here. I may read but I have plenty going on in my life, today particularly, to warrant a vacation.

    * I have a friend who is likely dying of cancer. This is her 3rd cancer experience and chemo isn’t working.

    * Said friend has a dog that we love and watch. Said dog has to be put to sleep today or tomorrow at the request of Animal Control. – I get to do that.

    * Church was great yesterday, I got to encourage the ward leadership to focus on Christ for Sacrament meeting. Other ward members agreed. Then Elder Nelson held a fireside.

I don’t like this Monday at all.

Thanks for covering. I will rebound but I need to lean on everyone here for a few days.

    Take care of yourself.

The fireside was disappointing, but the message will fade – just not quickly enough for many people.

Ugh. I’m sorry to hear that. I’ve had a string of lousy Mondays (and days ending in ‘y’ for that matter).

Shortly before Christmas a good friend of ours passed away from stage 4 terminal colon cancer. The chemo bought her an additional 14 months of life and boy did she take advantage of it. Seeing her at the funeral had a huge impact on me, she was always so full of life and to see her lifeless… it was very hard. She left behind four school aged children. Oops, now I’m crying again.

    I know the feels.

I’m sorry to hear about your friend and how hard things are for you.

Like you, I suggested the same request of our council to find topics to speak on in the 5th sunday sacrament meeting this month, mine were “Christ’s teachings, such as beatitudes or parables” and it was shot down, and instead they want to talk about being anxiously engaged 😥

Oh well…sometimes disappointment does mean a little retreat and time to lick your own wounds, so you can get back into it and keep trying to help others.

Take care. Good thoughts going your way from here.

Take care. I was scarce around here for a bit when I had lots going on. I’m sorry about your friend, that is more important than being here.
