“Earth’s crammed with heaven, and every common bush afire with God. But only he who sees, takes off his shoes — the rest sit round it and pluck blackberries.”

    -Elizabeth Barrett Browning

I saw this quote in an article at Mormon Times http://www.mormontimes.com/around_church/worldwide_church/?id=6526

It made me think about how powerfully our perspective impacts our reality. It is an idea of the power of faith — not in the sense of hope, but in the sense of being an active power which shapes our experience. Do we just see the divine because we choose to see it? Doesn’t that make it a figment of our imagination? Yes. But maybe that is the whole point.

“The kingdom of God is within you.”

Just want to say thanks for sharing that article. I really agreed with the guy, and thanks for sharing your thoughts as well. I agree with them, too. I am so grateful for this site, all the podcasts on here. Thank you for your time and dedication to maintaining this effort. Now can you choose a photo, that is a bit more pleasing to look at it. Every time I see it, it feels a bit dreary. I want to think of staying LDS and coming to this site as a bit more hopeful. ;) Seriously, it is a bit drab to me. Just my two cents on it.

Well, I am off to see my SP, with a prayer in my heart. I took my concerns to the Lord Saturday night and gave them all to Him and woke up Monday morning with the thoughts in my post yesterday, I take it that was God’s way of answering my prayers and even reading your thoughts this morning helped me to be further at peace.

Great quote, valoel. Thanks for sharing it.

I believe that we don’t believe what we see, but rather we see what we believe. Therefore, I have chosen intentionally to believe a certain way (a way that brings me joy personally) – with the conviction that it will help me see things in certain ways. It’s harder for some than others to “decide to believe”, but it is working for me.
