GuestIncredibly sad with what’s going on over there. I think no matter which “side” you support, we can all agree that innocent civilians do not deserve this. It honestly breaks my heart to read what’s going on in the “Holy Land”. It’s a situation seemingly that requires an absolute steady hand, but that seems to be lacking. Browsing social media I feel this situation has brought about the worst of the worst of people. October 13, 2023 at 1:08 pm #344494Anonymous
GuestUnfortunately, innocent civilians are always the biggest casualty of war. Remember 9/11. October 13, 2023 at 3:17 pm #344495Anonymous
GuestI agree that civilians are suffering. We as a people have come so far to alleviate and remediate human suffering. Yet sometimes old ways, that we had hoped we had outgrown, resurface.
I do not pretend to know the answer. I do believe that solutions would be easier if religion wasn’t tied up in it. Since it is the “Holy Land” nobody is interested in compromising.
There is perhaps a lesson on this from our own history. When it was suggested that the local communities buy out the Mormons from Jackson County and send them on their way, the Mormons responded that their plots of land represented their inheritance in Zion/ the millennial kingdom and that it would be akin to selling their children.

GuestI’ve been struggling with deciding what I should type here, since I do not want to stink this place up with my opinions. As someone who has long had a special place in his heart for the country and people of Israel, I will admit that some of my thoughts these past few days can generously be described as less than Christ-like. It is terrible to see so much suffering and death. That is something that we all can agree on.
However this is resolved, I hope and pray it remains contained to Israel and Palestine. Should religiously inspired passion prevail over cooler heads among Israel’s neighbors, this conflict could become much larger.

GuestI was listening to a concert on Youtube today. This song seems relevant. I can’t pretend that I understand what’s going on in the middle east.
It leaves me with extreme sadness. Then I wonder, “what does God feel?”
Disappointed maybe? Isn’t it a pity.

GuestScriptures predict there will be war in Israel in the last days, and that prophets will die in the street where they remain for 3 days. Reports like what is happening in Israel make me wonder. -
