I approved this registration, but it seems like the guy might get himself into trouble. I’m going to send him a quick note explaining in a nice way that our forum has pretty tight controls too, and he still might get banned. He sounds like he might be heading more in a fundamentalist direction with his faith transition. Different strokes for different folks… Just keep an eye out for him, and perhaps he can be coached a little if he comes across the wrong way:

I was a long time member of the LDS Freedom Forum but got permanently
banned because I was posting some ugly truths about the church that I have
recently uncovered that were probably too painful for the other members and
mods to consider. I recognize that the church has many problems with its
history that it continues to cover up to keep its reputation in-tact and
also that the church is or has evolved into a corporation first before a
gospel-oriented religion based on the true teachings of Jesus Christ. Many
of the laws, ordinances and principles have been corrupted by men over time
in the church, but what Joseph Smith restored back in the 1820’s is still
true nonetheless. I desire to belong to an LDS discussion group where my
knowledge, positions and opinions can be accepted, respected and shared
without fear of being banned. Thanks!
I think rather than approving him, an email to check his intentions would be in order. He smells bad from the get-go to me, and I don’t think he is trying to Stay LDS. I think he is doing the opposite, and I think an email might be the best way to prevent any censorship charges. His intent seem very bad, IMO, and I think he should be on a VERY short leash (but I think I would prefer NO leash.) I moved his first post to our parking lot area for everyone to see, without approving it. It starts with a charge that the LDS Church is apostasizing away from Christ. I agree that we need to clarify his intent before we approve anything.
I smell a rat. I sent him an email explaining that many people in our community have lost their traditional testimony, that he might not get the responses he thinks, and that we do tightly moderate our content. His reply seemed put me more at ease. He sounded OK with all that, and not belligerent like our recent encounter with Futuremissionary. Whatever you guys decide ultimately with him is cool by me.
