Our SMs are ALWAYS a regurgitation of a conference talk! Always!!!
Is this new church policy??Each speaker talks on the same talk…we hear the same talk 3 times…always with a man closing the meeting…I can’t stand it.
I’d much rather know that those who are speaking did some research on their own on a topic unrelated to any recent GC talk.

GuestNo, that’s not a new church policy, at least as far as I’m aware. Sacrament talks are up to the discretion of the local units with the exception of the Sunday when a member from the high council speaks. What happens is that it’s super easy to assign the topics for each Sunday for 6 months at a time if you’re just going down the list of recent conference talks. It’s an easy out.

Absolutely NOT policy. That sounds horrendous! I’m so sorry for you.
Maybe you should email the bishop this:

I spoke to my bishop about it. He assured me it wasn’t a problem.:problem: But, maybe he’ll think about it, and at least I got my message across.
