Tithing settlement now a thing of the past

I agree and my interest in church history stems from trying to understand why things are they way they are. I know I’m always tooting Terryl Givens’ horn and I’m about to do it again. I think most people are most familiar with his works like The God Who Weeps and All Things New (great books, and co-authored by Fiona) but he also has many more “scholarly” books that focus on church history and culture. These works include People of Paradox and Wrestling the Angel” – if you want to know why we teach what we teach those are excellent resources.
