2.) Terryl Givens – University of Richmond – From a Fireside Presentation to the Single Adult Stake, Palo Alto, CA 14 October 2012. Revised on October 22, 2012.

3.) Russell Hancock – This is a transcript of unprepared remarks by Russell Hancock – 1st Counselor, Menlo Park Stake Presidency to the Valparaiso Ward Elders Quorum 6 May 2012
http://geoffsn.blogspot.com/2012/08/russell-hancock-on-testimony-and-church.html pages 11-15
4.) Marlin Jensen – Seventy Emeritus -First Quorum of the Seventy – Excerpts from a Q&A with Elder Marlin K. Jensen (Church Historian and Recorder) at USU.

http://www.fairblog.org/2012/12/12/keeping-the-faith-7b-the-reel-story/ I then did a power point (happy to upload here if I can, don’t know how) which went over the problem, it’s severity, and the steps to help.
It was super received.
The stake Clerk was eating it up as the nods of his head showed.
One Bishop had some of these issues on his mind,
Another was in a similar siuation as me where he was on the other side of a faith crisis
Another said he was naive to this stuff but that he had members of his ward struggling.
the last one seemed the most disconnected but it was obvious he learned a lot by his comments
The stake Clerk commented that the Stake presidentcy needed to see this and was going to try to get me a chance to show them.
The missing Leaders should see it as well as one is the Son of the Stake Clerk, and two Bishops there promised to share the same lesson with them.
There was no push back at all…………… super well received. If you want the power point email me (not PM) Every Stake should have this training.
The key is to talk about the process without discussing major issues that opens a can of worms for one naive to the issues. AAA++++

GuestWoop, woop! That’s great new Bill. Really, really pleased for you. I’ll probably pm you to get a copy of the files if you’re willing to share. That’s a great reading list too! April 11, 2013 at 3:28 pm #263425Anonymous
GuestThank you for the list and I am so glad it went well. I hadn’t read the Russell Hancock paper before and LOVED IT. “I feel well fed”

GuestExcellent! So gald to hear this report. I agree that the key, especially initially, is to focus on the issue, not the issues – and I think Pres. Uchtdorf’s and Elder Holland’s talk this past weekend can be powerful, additional help.

GuestStake Clerk sent me an email and said
Quote:“You did a great presentation and I felt that it was one of the finest hours I have ever spent at church.”
He is now making a pitch for this to be shown to the stake presidency and high Council.

a lotof hours there. I’m glad it went well! April 15, 2013 at 2:46 pm #263429Anonymous
GuestI have now been asked to do the same presentation by the Stake Presidency for them. If they like it, I believe the High Council is next. DB
