No intro posted. First interaction is to form a new topic on a controversial subject, referenced amateur McConkie Doctrine, and imply it is not in conformity with scripture (which implies a strong Stage 3 Bible literalist).

    Smells like troll.

I say we moderate w/ a heavy hand.

Maybe we ask them to make it clear what their goal is — and then warn them once…and then they’re outta here.

Anyway, I’m fully down w/ us being trigger happy if we don’t feel real sincerity behind the posts/comments. All comments/posts need to be coming from a place of, “Help me! I want/need to make this work”.

    What do ya’ll think?

I agree totally. I commented, but I want to see how the poster responds. If s/he doesn’t even try to acknowledge the points being made, and/or if s/he immediately launches into an argument, we shut it down and address it directly behind the scenes.

I agree with your discerning spirit, and I too feel we need to mod with a heavy hand.

LOL. I just skimmed the new comments in that thread. I think Q89 is finding out this community might be a bigger bite than they can swallow :-)

Always keep in mind, to help your mod conscience, that StayLDS is not an open discussion board. We aren’t here for the cause of freedom of speech. We are harvesting content, quality content.

I was totally fine with banning Lady Wisdom just because her posts and responses did not meet that level of what we want to harvest. She hadn’t really caused drama … yet (she would have though eventually).

I agree — he sounds more like a fundamentalist Christian than anything else. Perhaps there ARE some, but I have never met a member who was concerned about something that didn’t seem to mesh with a protestant view of the Bible.
