It’s just disgusting that Fidel Castro got a more positive obit than Castro did. Sure, there is no denying that the Church’s record on LGBT rights isn’t that great. But to make a political statement with someone’s death? Golly.
I know Americans will hate me for saying this, but Castro has had an interesting mixed legacy. Cuba has had firing squads and prisons, and is a dictatorship, but Castro also turfed out the Mafia who were running the island and gave Cuba one of the best healthcare systems of any Third World nation.
While his early legacy was brutal, he mellowed out in later years.
Also, unlike most Latin American countries, the narcotics industry in Cuba was pretty small under his rule.
The fact that he was one of the few countries to hold out against US influence makes him a hero to some.
But TSM vs Fidel? TSM doesn’t have blood on his hands. Oh and by the way, Cuba’s legacy on LGBT? Not good…
