    Great comments!

For me removing the [old] garments would symbolize something positive. So I know it is only a matter of time before I release myself from them-I’m really just waiting for hubby to be ready. I totally agree that wearing them (or not) is a personal symbol and not something for flaunting publicly one way or the other. Luckily, I was born without the rebellion bone. ;)

    So true!

I believe I can only do what I am led by Christ to do. I can’t just follow tradition or do things to please people. Easier said than done!

BTW, I personally am not opposed at all to the idea of wearing garments OVER regular underwear – even though I know that is not the Church’s standard.

For women, at least, that standard has changed over the years based on feedback from female members. It is perfectly acceptable to wear the garment over one’s underwear, and this is generally (although not completely consistently) stated by those in distribution. That used to not be the case. However, I’m not in favor of more layers, so not an important win for me.
